Dashboard¶

The Dashboard is your home base in AstroManager, providing an at-a-glance overview of your astrophotography activities and quick access to key features.

Overview¶

When you log in to AstroManager, you'll land on the Dashboard. It's designed to give you immediate insight into:

• Current observatory conditions
• Active imaging sessions
• Recent activity
• Quick actions

Dashboard Components¶

Observatory Status¶

At the top of the dashboard, you'll see your primary observatory's current status:

• Location: Your configured observatory name and coordinates
• Current Time: Local time at your observatory
• Sun Status: Current sun altitude and twilight phase
• Moon Phase: Current illumination percentage and rise/set times

Astronomical Conditions¶

The conditions panel shows tonight's imaging conditions:

Quick Actions¶

Common actions are available with one click:

• 🔍 Search Targets - Jump to DSO database
• 📅 View Schedule - Open your scheduled targets
• 🖥️ Remote Control - Monitor live equipment
• ⚙️ Settings - Configure your setup

Active Sessions¶

If you have an imaging session in progress (connected via N.I.N.A. plugin), the dashboard shows:

Live Status¶

• Current Target: What's being imaged right now
• Exposure Progress: Current exposure countdown
• Session Progress: Exposures captured vs. planned
• Equipment Status: Mount, camera, focuser states

Recent Captures¶

Thumbnails of the most recently captured images appear in a rolling display, letting you see your session's progress at a glance.

Session Calendar Preview¶

A compact calendar view shows:

• Past Sessions: Days when you captured images (marked with indicators)
• Planned Sessions: Upcoming scheduled imaging nights
• Today: Highlighted with current conditions

Click any date to view detailed session information.

Statistics¶

The dashboard includes summary statistics:

This Month¶

• Total imaging time
• Exposures captured
• Targets imaged
• Clear nights used

All Time¶

• Total objects imaged
• Total imaging hours
• Most imaged constellation
• Favorite target type

Notifications¶

Recent notifications and alerts appear in the notification area:

• Session Alerts: Weather changes, equipment issues
• System Updates: New features, maintenance notices
• Completion Notices: When targets reach their goals

Click the bell icon to view all notifications and manage preferences.

Customization¶

Widget Arrangement¶

Coming Soon: Customize which widgets appear on your dashboard and their arrangement.

Preferred Observatory¶

If you have multiple observatories configured, select your default from the dropdown to show its conditions on the dashboard.
