Add exception for N.I.N.A. if needed
-
Restart N.I.N.A.
- Close completely
- Reopen and try again
Frequent Disconnections¶
Symptoms: - Connection drops periodically - Status fluctuates between connected/disconnected
Solutions:
- Check Network Stability
- Test network for packet loss
-
Use wired connection if possible
-
Adjust Heartbeat Interval
-
Increase heartbeat timeout in settings
-
Check Power Settings
- Ensure computer doesn't sleep
- Check USB power management
Scheduler Issues¶
No Targets Available¶
Symptoms: - Scheduler reports "No targets available" - Loop exits immediately
Solutions:
- Check Scheduled Targets
- Verify you have active targets in AstroManager
-
Check targets aren't all paused or complete
-
Verify Observability
- Check targets are above minimum altitude
-
Verify moon distance requirements
-
Check Observatory
- Ensure correct observatory selected in plugin
-
Verify observatory coordinates are correct
-
Check Time
- Verify computer time is correct
- Check timezone settings
Wrong Target Selected¶
Symptoms: - Scheduler picks unexpected target - Priority seems ignored
Solutions:
- Review Priorities
- Check target priorities in AstroManager
-
Higher priority (lower number) should be preferred
-
Check Altitude
- Target must be observable
-
Scheduler prefers higher altitude when similar priority
-
Verify Goals
- Target needs incomplete imaging goals
- Check goals aren't already at 100%
Target Switches Too Often¶
Symptoms: - Scheduler frequently changes targets - Short imaging runs per target
Solutions:
- Check Meridian Settings
- Verify meridian buffer settings
-
Targets may be crossing meridian
-
Review Priorities
- Multiple high-priority targets competing
-
Consider adjusting priorities
-
Check Goal Counts
- Small goal counts complete quickly
- Increase goal frame counts
Exposure Issues¶
Exposures Not Counting¶
Symptoms: - Frames captured but count not updating - Progress stays at 0%
Solutions:
- Check Sync Status
- Verify plugin is connected
-
Check "Report Completed" is enabled
-
Verify Target Match
- Ensure captured target matches scheduled target
-
Check coordinates are close enough
-
Manual Count Adjustment
- Update counts manually in AstroManager if needed
Wrong Filter/Exposure¶
Symptoms: - Plugin uses unexpected filter - Exposure time incorrect
Solutions:
- Check Imaging Goals
- Verify filter names match N.I.N.A. profile
-
Check exposure times in AstroManager
-
Verify Filter Wheel Setup
- Filter names must match exactly
- Case-sensitive matching
Performance Issues¶
Plugin Causes Lag¶
Symptoms: - N.I.N.A. becomes slow when plugin active - UI freezes periodically
Solutions:
- Reduce Sync Frequency
- Increase sync intervals in settings
-
Disable unnecessary equipment sync
-
Disable Thumbnails
- Turn off thumbnail upload
-
Reduces processing load
-
Check Log Level
