Plugin Installation & Configuration

This page covers the practical steps for getting the AstroManager plugin installed and visible in N.I.N.A.

Before You Install

Before installing the plugin, make sure:

  • your system matches the Downloads / System Requirements
  • N.I.N.A. is already installed and starts normally
  • you already created a client in Client Configuration
  • you have the license key of that client ready
  • the imaging PC has internet access for the first connection

Install the Plugin

In N.I.N.A.:

  1. Open the Plugins area.
  2. Search for AstroManager.
  3. Install the plugin.
  4. Restart N.I.N.A.

After restart, the plugin should be available both in the plugin list and inside the Advanced Sequencer instruction catalog.

Initial Setup

After installation:

  1. Open the AstroManager plugin settings.
  2. Enter the license key for your AstroManager client.
  3. Let the plugin validate the key and load the configuration.
  4. Return to N.I.N.A. and confirm the plugin shows a connected state.

If validation works in theory but not in the plugin, the usual causes are:

  • blocked network access
  • wrong or stale license key

Plugin Configuration

If you use a mono camera, check once whether the filter names in your N.I.N.A. filter wheel match AstroManager's standard filter names: L, R, G, B, Ha, OIII, SII.

If they do not match, configure the mapping once in Remote Control at the filter wheel controls.

Typical examples are mappings like:

  • LumL
  • RedR
  • GreenG
  • BlueB
  • O3OIII

That mapping is important so AstroManager can correctly understand which filters are really being used and count captures toward the right imaging goals.

If AstroManager detects unresolved mono-filter names from N.I.N.A., it shows a warning in Session Status with a direct link to the filter mapping.

Most of the important behavior is usually not configured in the plugin itself, but in AstroManager.

You can also view or edit parts of the setup from inside N.I.N.A., such as targets, exposure templates, and the Night Preview shown on the plugin settings page, but it is usually better to do the actual configuration directly in AstroManager.
