Monthly plan

English:

Monthly plan. Renews automatically every month until cancelled before the next renewal date.

German:

Yearly plan

English:

Yearly plan. Renews automatically every year until cancelled before the next renewal date.

Product Lifetime

English:

Product Lifetime. One-time purchase for the purchased AstroManager product tier. Does not renew automatically.

Show the relevant consent text only when immediate access starts directly after purchase.

Hosted service access starts immediately

Use this for monthly/yearly SaaS plans and for lifetime plans that immediately activate hosted-service access.

English:

I expressly request that AstroManager begins providing the digital service immediately after purchase. I understand that if I exercise my statutory right of withdrawal after the service has started, I may have to pay a proportionate amount for the part already provided, to the extent permitted by law.

German:

Ich verlange ausdrücklich, dass AstroManager unmittelbar nach dem Kauf mit der Bereitstellung der digitalen Dienstleistung beginnt. Digital content or license activation starts immediately

Use this only when the purchase immediately delivers digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, or immediately activates a license in a way intended to trigger the digital-content withdrawal rule.

English:

I expressly agree that AstroManager begins providing the purchased digital content or activates the purchased license immediately after purchase. I understand that, where the legal requirements are met, I may lose my statutory right of withdrawal once performance has begun or once the service has been fully performed.

German:

Ich stimme ausdrücklich zu, dass AstroManager die gekauften digitalen Inhalte unmittelbar nach dem Kauf bereitstellt bzw. die gekaufte Lizenz sofort aktiviert. Mir ist bekannt, dass ich mein gesetzliches Widerrufsrecht verlieren kann, sobald die Ausführung begonnen hat oder die Dienstleistung vollständig erbracht wurde, soweit die gesetzlichen Voraussetzungen vorliegen.

Renewal Reminder Email Draft

Use this reminder at the beginning of the applicable cancellation window for consumer auto-renewals.

Before shipping this, make sure the actual product flow defines:

  • the renewal date
  • the cancellation deadline
  • the exact cancellation method
  • which plans require the reminder

Processor Audit Checklist

Use this checklist before launch and every time you add a new third-party service.

Already visible from the current repo

  • Hetzner hosting
  • Stripe payments and subscription billing
  • Keycloak or another hosted identity provider if account/security management is outsourced there

Verify every processor or recipient category

  • Hosting provider
  • Payment provider
  • Identity provider / login provider
  • Email delivery provider
  • Newsletter provider
  • Crash logging / telemetry provider
  • Support desk / ticketing provider
  • File storage / object storage provider
  • CDN / edge / image optimization provider
  • Analytics provider
  • Push notification provider
  • Any AI, OCR, or document processing provider

For each processor, confirm

  • legal name
  • address
  • purpose of processing
  • data categories processed
  • legal basis
  • whether it acts as processor or independent controller
  • where data is stored
  • whether data leaves the EU/EEA
  • transfer mechanism used for non-EU/EEA transfers
  • retention period or retention logic
  • whether a DPA / AVV is in place
  • whether the Privacy Policy names or clearly covers this processor
  • The checkout page clearly shows whether the plan is monthly, yearly, or product-lifetime.
  • Monthly and yearly plans clearly disclose automatic renewal before purchase.
  • The checkout page captures the correct immediate-performance consent when access starts right away.
  • The purchase flow stores timestamped proof of consent text and accepted version.
  • The billing portal lets the user cancel without unnecessary friction.
  • The renewal reminder is sent at the legally relevant time for the applicable cancellation window.
  • Terms, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and public pricing page all describe the same plan behavior.

Open Implementation Note

If annual consumer auto-renewal is used, the legal text alone is not enough. The actual billing flow must define the cancellation window and send the reminder at the beginning of that window.
